Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and develop detailed mechanical designs for our next-generation robots, sorters, and dimensioners
- Develop rigorous testing processes to validate your designs, refine them through beta testing and customer demonstrations, and ultimately drive them to production.
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure structural integrity, optimal functionality, and maximum efficiency in your designs.
- Take complete responsibility for the mechanical design process, from initial spark to final assembly. Be the go-to expert for all things mechanical.
- Seamlessly collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, sharing your expertise and translating ideas into reality.
- Meticulously document every step of the design process, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer for future iterations.
- Deliver high-quality work on time and within budget, demonstrating excellent project management skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields (e.g., Mechatronics, Robotics)
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within the dynamic system design
- Comprehensive knowledge of production processes and experience with design for manufacturing (DFM): Understand the impact of design decisions on manufacturability and optimize designs for efficient production
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and proven ability to design complex mechanical systems and products
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor: Master of Sheet Metal, Solid Part, Analyze, and Inventor Studio modules (Experience with other design software like AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, ANSYS, etc. would be beneficial)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Apply advanced math and statistics to solve engineering challenges
- Clear and concise technical documentation skills: Ability to communicate complex information effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Self-motivated and results-oriented: Take initiative, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and deliver on time and within budget
- Experience in the automation industry: A plus if you've tackled similar projects
- Proven track record in product development: Successfully navigate the entire product lifecycle
